Sedona, Arizona....Located 2.5 hours north of downtown Phoenix is the most beautiful place on this great big ball of mud. Founded in 1902, named after T. Carl Schnebly's daughter Sedona Schnebly. The family was very wealthy and were prominent land owners. The Schnebly's were supposedly the first settlers in the town, but history shows the Native American Indians were the beginning ancestors of the area. For history's sake there are mapped man made trails that mark the Schnebly family's history, such as Schnebly Hill. Today, year 2008, there is so much more the just red rock and dirt roads. A mass amount of tourists visit the town daily. On average 4-5 million people visit Sedona yearly. I am sure some are just passing through on their way to the Grand Canyon, but the majority come for the ambiance and the mystical energy that the Sedona area holds. In the main section of town there are several tourist shops with good deals on Tarot readings, energy working, psychic readers and Aura photography. If you are into crystals and geodes they are easily found in most shops. If your into the holistic lifestyle then this is a place for you. There are plenty of places that are vegetarian and if your in the mood for Sushi there are two awesome places on the strip. All in all, this is the NEW AGE MECCA!
